Basin Electric donation helps individuals purchase affordable items

Basin Electric donated $25,000 to Heaven’s Helpers RePurpose Store in Bismarck, North Dakota. The environmentally-friendly organization accepts donations of useable items that help people acquire reasonably-priced products.

The RePurpose Store helps our community in a number of ways.

  • Significantly decreases the amount of waste going to our landfills.
  • Offers the community good RePurposed products at a great price.
  • Individuals who want a new start and, due to their past, don’t qualify for many employment opportunities are hired and mentored.
  • All profits go towards helping the community and providing safe housing for individuals and families who want to RePurpose their lives.
Mark Meier from the RePurpose Store accepts the donation from Jennifer Holen, Basin Electric

Mark Meiers, executive director of Heaven’s Helpers Soup Café, receives the Basin Electric donation check from Jennifer Holen, charitable giving administrator.

“When this application was reviewed by our committee, we all agreed that it’s a great project. It’s a win-win. Individuals who are struggling to find work can come build their skills and earn money by repurposing items that may have otherwise been thrown away,” says Jennifer Holen, Basin Electric charitable giving administrator. “We are excited to see the wonderful transformation not only in the items, but also in the community members participating in the program.”

If you’d like to help support the RePurpose Store, they accept a wide range of useful products such as appliances, building materials, cabinets, flooring, electronics, and furniture (items must be in good working condition and not in need of repair). You can contact them at 701-751-0405 and bring donations to 1401 East Main Avenue.
