Basin Electric recently partnered with class C member Northern Electric Cooperative and class A member East River Electric Power Cooperative to make donations to community youth organizations in South Dakota through the member match program.

The donations were made to the Boys and Girls Club of Aberdeen Area, the Aberdeen Family YMCA Youth Development Center (YDC) expansion, and to the Columbia Community Foundation at the end of 2022 to help with growing youth organizations.

The $1,500 donation to the Boys and Girls Club of Aberdeen Area will help with the organization's growing teen center and its science, technology, engineering, and math program.

Another $1,500 was donated to the YDC expansion project for the Aberdeen Family YMCA. The expansion will help with the nine-month waiting list for childcare offered to infants, toddlers, and preschool-aged children.

A $2,500 donation was made to the Columbia Community Foundation, which will go toward a new youth baseball field and a park complex that will include walking trails, a disc golf course, a basketball court, and a pickleball court.

The member match program is a part of Basin Electric's Charitable Giving Program, which shows the importance of giving back to the organizations that help keep our communities strong and growing.
