Basin Electric employees raise $90,982 in Commitment to Community Campaign

In honor of Cooperative Month in October, Basin Electric employees held their annual cooperative-wide employee fundraising campaign called Commitment to Community Campaign. All of the proceeds from the fundraiser benefits United Way and other local charities.

This year, employees raised $40,950 through pledges. With Basin Electric’s match, this brought the donation to $81,900.

As another part of the fundraiser, employees were able to send a candy bar to a coworker, called Candy for a Cause, which helped raise an additional $7,932. Also, employees at Basin Electric’s headquarters in Bismarck, North Dakota bid on parking spots during an online auction and raised an additional $1,150 for the cause. In total, $90,982 was raised for the Commitment to Community Campaign.

Employees at facilities located in a community without a United Way chapter designated a local charity or nonprofit organization to receive their pledges. Funds pledged by employees located in a community served by United Way will be directed to the local United Way and agencies supported by it.
