Leland Olds Station plant custodian Billie Sailer and Basin Electric mechanical engineer III Jeremy House, both members of Leland Olds Station's first response team, work together to raise a training makikin to be placed for a confined space training scenario.

Leland Olds Station's first response team held confined space and rope rescue training at Dakota Gasificaton Company's training grounds on Aug. 17.

The two-hour training session included running through two hands-on practice activities. “Training is important,” said Matt Middlemas, safety coordinator at Leland Olds Station. “The response team members requested some practice so they can maintain their skills and knowledge, and I appreciate Dakota Gas allowing us the opportunity to use their training facility to accomplish this.”

Leland Olds Station's first response team meets monthly to either practice rope rescue or learn skills to maintain their emergency medical response certifications. Other training includes hands-on practicing, simulating scenarios with drills, or classroom training.
