Maintenance completed during Great Plains Synfeuls Plant outage

A planned maintenance turnaround began at Dakota Gasification Company'Great Plains Synfuels Plant's urea and anhydrous ammonia production facilities on Oct. 24.

Over 200 maintenance work order tasks were completed during the 14-day outage. Some of the major jobs included:

  • A major overhaul of the urea carbon dioxide compressor;
  • Repair leaks on exchangers in the ammonia plant;
  • High temperature insulation work on the feed gas heater in the ammonia plant; and
  • Inspect the ammonia plant exchanger.

Maintenance work is now complete and urea and ammonia production has been resumed.
