Come one, come all: Basin Electric celebrates employees and families

Each year, Basin Electric hosts Family Night events for employees at its various locations, but this year, the Family Night event in Bismarck, North Dakota, looked a bit different.

All North Dakota employees were invited to see circus magic up-close at a private showing of the El Zagal Shrine Circus. Audience members witnessed a variety of awe-inspiring acts, including juggling, a disappearing act, clown comedy, trained animals, and more.

John Frank, Basin Electric director of risk and insurance, says, “My favorite act was the motorcycle jumper. I was surprised he could get that much height for his flips in the small area he had to ride in.”

“I liked the aerial silk acrobat who performed while another gal was playing the violin,” says Amanda Dvorak, Basin Electric records coordinator. “It was very beautiful, and both were very talented!”

During intermission, attendees were able to “step right up” and enjoy face painting, bouncy houses, and rides on camels, llamas, ponies, and an elephant. There was also a drawing for bicycles.

Employees were able to bring up to seven members along for the show, and there more than 2,300 attendees.

“I appreciated being able to bring family members. My grandkids were excited to ride the animals and enjoyed all of the different acts. Basin did a great job with the event,” says Frank.

“It was very nice having the option of bringing extra guests because sometimes ‘chosen’ family is equal to real family,” says Dvorak.
