Basin Electric recognizes that wildfire poses a threat to public safety and the reliable delivery of electricity across its service territory. The cooperative has developed a Wildfire Mitigation Plan that establishes a framework for prevention, preparedness, response, and continuous improvement.
The public is welcome to join Basin Electric at an open house in Sidney, Montana, to learn about the Wildfire Mitigation Plan. It will be held Wednesday, December 17, from 8-10 a.m. MST at Lower Yellowstone Rural Electric Cooperative, 3200 West Holly Street. Refreshments will be provided.
The plan will be available for review on Basin Electric’s website seven days prior to the open house: https://www.basinelectric.com/about-us/transmission/Vegetation-Management-Program. Comments can be sent to publicnotice@bepc.com through 5 p.m. MST Dec. 19.
