Valerie Weigel, Basin Electric senior vice president of Energy Markets and Dakota Coal Company Operations, was recently named to the Lignite Energy Council (LEC) Board of Directors as a Major Supplier.
Weigel is replacing Troy Tweeten, Basin Electric senior vice president of Generation.
The Lignite Energy Council is governed by a 26-member board of directors. The directors represent the major producers and users of lignite, research members, reserve holders, and major members in three categories along with Contractor/Supplier members.
“I’m looking forward to supporting the North Dakota Coal Industry in my role with the LEC board,” Weigel said.
