Basin Electric's and Dakota Gasification Company's paid internships are available in a variety of professional positions for students obtaining their degree. Internships typically occur during the summer months as full-time, but other opportunities may be available for students to work part-time while attending school.
Basin Electric and Dakota Gasification Company, along with other utility companies, also work hand-in-hand with Bismarck State College's Power Plant Technology/Process Plant Technology Program. An internship has been implemented as part of the curriculum whereby students must intern at an energy facility. This is a paid two-week only internship.

Student Intern/Cooperative Education Program
This program is designed to assist students in applying their education to productive work experiences in their field of study by offering full-time paid work instead of regular classes.
Basin Electric and Dakota Gasification Company pays an allowance from credits received for Student Intern/Cooperative Education Program work experience. The maximum credits allowable per semester will be four.
Placements are available in a variety of professional positions. Students may be placed at various locations throughout the organization.
